Terry Gibson has just published a book: ‘Making Aid Agencies Work: Reconnecting INGOs with the people they serve’ (INGOs = International Non Governmental Organisations)
The topics of the book are whether aid could be used better, whether aid agencies could do better, whether there are better ways of working alongside people in the developing world. They’re hot topics because of recent problems at some of the big aid agencies, and because the UK’s generous aid donations are under threat.
Along with David Mayers and Mark Abbott I’m organising an evening for anyone interested in these questions. I’ll be doing some short selected readings from the book but the main part of the evening will be open to the floor for questions and discussion.
