Quakers have always led the way to building a more peaceful world.

Quakers in East Cheshire continue to promote peace and conscientiously object to war.

Exhibition:  “Choices Then and Now”

An exhibition focusing on Macclesfield’s men and women whose conscience would not allow them to take up arms or serve in the military in WW1.

The choices depicted are relevant for our own generation today.

Also on display will be a stunning textile hanging by Artspsace and poetry from pupils in local secondary schools.

Quaker Textile Hanging and Display of Poetry

A stunning Textile Hanging created by East Cheshire Quakers

A thought provoking display of poetry from the anthology ‘Worn With Pride’. 

The anthology focuses on the dilemmas of war, and has been written by pupils from local schools. It will be on sale in Macclesfield, throughout the week at W.H. Smith, Waterstones Bookshop and The Visitor Information Centre (£5).
