Kites that have been created by pupils at Macclesfield schools are being displayed at St Peters from Thursday November 8th to Sunday November 11th. The installation has been created by Mike Thorpe to fill the body of the church with the words and hopes of these students: what do we want the peace for. This installation is part of the reflection on 100 years since the signing of the armistice at the end of the First World War. The armistice itself was not a peace treaty. That was still come to come. And when it did, it sowed the seeds for another war, not a lasting peace. Throughout the week we have been reflecting on what peace looks like and what brings it about.
